Hawaii, with its unique, racially diverse population has been underutilized as a site for clinical trials. Hawaii is ideally suited to this activity, with a statewide population of 1.3 million (900,000 on the island of Oahu) that includes the following ethnic groups:

About the Institute
Subject recruitment and retention is typically better in Hawaii than on the U.S. mainland because of local cultural emphasis on service to others, and limited out-of-state travel due to the geographic isolation of the Islands.
Seventy-five percent of the state’s 1.3 million population resides within a 25-mile radius of our site.
The strength of our Research lies in our Experience and the Ethnic Diversity and Close Proximity of our Island Population.
Honolulu is easily accessible, with frequent nonstop flights from most major U.S. cities and competitive airfares. Our site is just 15 minutes from the airport and major hotels. All major airlines and car rental companies serve Honolulu, and most HOTELS provide data port hook-ups.
